It's almost never a good idea to have the back of the hand (especially a woman's hand) toward the camera. It creates a big flat area of skin that is relatively unimportant but distracts attention away from the face.
It's usually better to post the hand so that they thin edge is toward the camera. This makes the hands look smaller and they don't distract the viewer as much. Great example by Texkam above.
