I was just messing around with the camera this morning while the kid was in the bathtub... Instead of putting on my flash, I just cranked the ISO up until I got proper exposure (or close enough) and it was 3200...

I am pretty surprised the pictures look decent.

1/80 2.8 iso 3200 24mm

Pictures of children bathing makes me uncomfortable. I remember hearing that story about a mother was was being charged with child porn because she had pictures of her daughter taking a bath on her camera.

Pretty soon we won't be able to take pictures of our children at all!

Lets NERF the world!

Yeah, I just opened this up at work just as my boss was walking by.

That's how rumors get started.

Seriously. Thanks.

what? This makes me laugh.

I'll take that one down since it makes people uncomfortable.

It is a kid. In the tub. oh well.

Uncomfortable? How? Few people get uncomfortable seeing images of childen bathing.

Tell the rest of the story......And the charges were quickly dropped when it was realized the photos were made by a parent.

The vast majority of people that take snap shots of kids are not pedophiles.

In this fingerpointing, nanny state, accuse first absolve later, over sensitive, sheltered, paranoid, hate filled, over governed, politically correct bull**** atmosphere (nation wide), you never know what people are going to take offense to.

This thread doesn't make me uncomfortable.. My boss however, made it very clear what she thought I was doing. Having to convince her and the HR task force I will inevitably be sitting in front of that I'm not a pedophile makes me uncomfortable.

Just sayin'.

....and are you sure she just isnt upset you are surfing the web instead of working? lol

I can't believe a picture of a kid in a bathtub is going to get you introuble? do you need a copy of the photo with the thread so you can explain to them about shooting with high ISO? lol

Making sure you nail the exposure is a high ISO requirement.

^^^^^^

This. Anything other than correct exposure will result in an almost unusable picture. Ask me how I know.

No, it will be fine. Besides, it might be time for a change of scenery anyways.

I'm not going to get in any trouble, but it makes me feel uncomfortable to have a supervisor look at me like a predator....... for even just a few moments. Everythng has been smoothed over, and I still have a job.

Just saying, that even though something can be completely harmless, to the eyes of an outsider, out of context, it can seem much much different.

yes, and the photo of the cat was about 2 stops under exposed so it had the most noise.... :( The other pictures of her in the tub were better adjusted. I had to snap the cat quickly because she jumped off the toilet seat like right after I walked into the bathroom.

Really, what is this world coming too! But no, it dosent make me uncomfortable, I won't let the 'thought police' make me feel that way like they have alot of other people! Making parents feel guilty for taking photographs of their own kids!

But yeah, thats why I love the D90. It really does do well at Higher ISO's. It does much better than it should be allowed to be for a DX crop sensor!
