ISO 3200 on my D90

Pictures of children bathing makes me uncomfortable. I remember hearing that story about a mother was was being charged with child porn because she had pictures of her daughter taking a bath on her camera.

If innocent photos of kids in a bathtub taken by a parent makes you feel uncomfortable you should probably look into that... there might be a deeper rooted issue there... Anyway, back to how great the D90 is at higher ISO's. Here is a shot taken with a D90. Lens used was Nikon's 50mm f/1.8D shot at f/2.8 ISO 3200. I was very surprised by how usable the shots are at that high of an ISO.

I didn't even see the pictures before you originally deleted them. I assumed they were much more naked than that... For real if that picture makes someone uncomfortable then that person makes ME feel uncomfortable.

Since my D90 with its 18-105 kit lens is sitting right in front of me I decided to crank it up to ISO 6400 and see what happens. Never went that high before and I'm actually pretty amazed at how usable it turned out...

I bet if you took it from the other way with the window to your back, you would be able to expose it correctly.

Uncomfortable? How? Few people get uncomfortable seeing images of childen bathing.

Tell the rest of the story......And the charges were quickly dropped when it was realized the photos were made by a parent.

The vast majority of people that take snap shots of kids are not pedophiles.

Nope, it turned into a big thing and the state was going to fight the case. It cost the family almost everything.

Exposed correctly, I would bet that it gets even less noisy.

zoom in on pic 1 on the left side and you'll see plenty of noise. others may disagree, but i absolutely hate the ISO performance above 800. i try not to go above it and i cry a bit every time i "have" to =p
