Agree. The sky, ocean and rock are spearated with different contrast. Heavy contrast clouds would make the sky too busy. I like the way that the man is small and away from the third line in the frame. It gives helpless, small, lonely feelings.

Really nice picture, though I don't personally get "isolation" from it.

You know what's interesting, is I bet if he were looking out of the frame it might of worked. Where he is looking into it, it seems to speak of questing... a journey... looking forward... etc.

I think the photo would have looked better in color, with a nice orange sky right after sunset.
