I just returned from a month in Israel, where I was taking a course for school. I took a whole lot of pics while there, and admittedly most of them were just crappy snapshots to show my parents, but there were a few I thought were kinda cool. I thought I'd share just for the sake of sharing—critique is welcome, of course, but I am well aware these are still not very good.

I like these, but probably more personal that straight photo quality. I spent 2 1/2 weeks in Israel in college. Where was #4? It looks like the western shore of the Dead Sea, but do you recall where? And the last looks like the Church of the Holy Sepulcher?

Ah, yeah—I guess I could give some context.

#1 - A beach just outside of Haifa
#2 - kids jumping off the fortified walls of Acre/Akko
#3 - the open bathroom window of my Airbnb in Tel Aviv
#4 - Masada (a plateau fortress in the desert built by King Herod—that's the Dead Sea in the background)
#5 - Masada
#6 - Old City, Jerusalem (yep, that's the Church of the Holy Sepulchre with the gold cross)

I wondered if that was Masada. I think I have a very similar shot to #5omplete with the bird. We spent a week working at the Ein Gedi archeological site and stayed at the hostel there. Working along the shore as the sun came up over the Dead Sea - beautiful.
