Issues shooting RAW

So I just took a ton of pictures and have begun trying to use RAW instead of JPEG on my camera. For some reason there is a CRAZY amount of noise, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I shoot with a Canon 50D...

any help PLEASE

what were your camera settings? at ISO400 or below, I get almost no noise on my 50d. Did you under-expose your photo and then boost the exposure?
