Jabiru

I posted one of these in the unusual bird poses thread but thought I would put it up in its own thread.

And a bit different. Not sharp but only one I had like this.

That's a beautiful bird Daniel, great detail in #1

I like this. And you have some really nice stuff on Flickr.

Awesome shots of a unique bird.

You done good!!! I LIKE the shooting-through-foliage look. As a former fly-tier, I am awestruck by that bird's plethora of small, irridescent head feathers...

Thank you for the kind words It means a lot that other photographers appreciate my work. They really are a beautiful species!

Nice set. Cool looking bird!

[Raj_55555]

what vibrant colours! And you've got some real masterpieces in your flickr account, specially the inland taipan(the most poisonous snake in the world).
Always wanted to see one up close. Great shots, looking forward to seeing more of your work .

These are just stunning. The shots and the Jabiru. You have excellent details in these and the colours are superb, bang on those colours. I wondered what the heck I had struck seeing one of these in the wild. Aussie, amazing diversity you have and what subjects. Next time I head off to Darwin, the long fast lenses come with me. I could have kicked myself, LOL.

All the best next door and top work !!

Danny.

Nice shots! I was wondering why the eyes in the first shot appear to be brown but in all of the others look yellow?

Nice question brown eyes is the male - yellow eyes is his mate.

That's really interesting! Are the eyes the only psychical characteristics to determine sex?
