I think that actually IS a Kate torpedo bomber. In most movies they used AT-6 Texans painted to look like Kates. Nice catch, not many of them around any more.
I'm undecided on the aging though. I think I like it but I'm not 100% sure![]()
Actually the greenhouse IS what I was looking atThanks, SCraig! I'm a little undecided as well, but I wanted it to look "scarier" I guess, so I made it look a little smoky and dated (unsure if I achieved that or not!). And yes, I believe that is a Kate as well. I can see how the AT-6 can be similar, but if you look at the cockpit window, it is more similar to the Kate than the AT-6! My father-in-law is a ret. LT. Col in the Airforce and was a fighter pilot (he flew f-15/16, a-10, f-4..etc) and so during the show, Tyndall AFB opens a runway up to people to really get close and they did a simulated Pearl Harbor attack! Super scary with the sirens and all...very realistic.

Pretty good reason for that.

...I see what you did there. Thanks!
Very ncie shot.
If I am not mistaken the plane the Japanese empire used for Kamikaze were the Mitsubishi Zero and not the Kate.
It was my impression at the end they mostly used the Zero to use as flying bombs but considering the state they were toward the end of the war it makes perfect sense they used everything they could through against the inevitable American invasion to their mainland. .Very ncie shot.

They used what ever they could get their hands on really. Zero's, Lilys, kates, you name it.

I do think it was a mad scramble to get to Hawaii for them and thus, they probably did use a whole mess of planes to try and get the job done! Sad day for Americans, but it did wake us up.
And the US Army, and the US Army Air Corps (not yet the US Air Force), and the US Navy. And everyone stateside who worked to provide the material that everyone needed. And everyone who bought War Bonds and lived with rationed gas, metal, silk, and everything else.Japan lost the control on the pacific mostly because of US carriers and of course the unbelievable courage of the US Marines.
