I had a photoshoot yesterday with a friend of mine from DeviantArt. Here are the finished photos! Apart from doing the lightsaber blade, these have very little post work. I'm a "Get it right in camera" kind of guy.

Okay, here it is.

Main light is a 580EX mk I in a softbox up off camera right. A 430EX mk II directly behind her aimed back at the camera to get the rim light in her hair. Photoshiop to add some blue light to her.

A bare 430 off to camera right to light her cloak, and the 580 in a softbox (gelled blue) to get the blue light on her face. The lightsaber blade was actually being held further back than her head.

Main light was the 580 in the softbox off to camera left , with a 430 on the right to provide a little rim separation.

This was the most complex set up.

The main light was the 580/softbox combo on camera right. Rim light was a 430 above her shining down to separate her hair, with a 430 set to light the background ceiling a little. The glow on the ground under the blade was added in photoshop.

580/softbox on camera left with a 430 on camera right for a rim light.

All of this was done using a 580 mk II flash on camera as a trigger, all in manual mode (flashes and camera), using the techniques described in my "Canon Wireless flash" tutorial in my signature.

As a Star Wars Fan I love them, 1 & 2 the saber does not look good, but the rest I love. Would love to see more if and when you do them. Great Wallpapers for a PC.

I was trying to get a rippling crackling look to the blade, to make it look like it was more than just a lit neon tube.
