Chris, I've admired (and continue to do so!) your images and the concepts that you pull together, but behind the models, the makeup, the set design, and the costumes, the one characteristic that sets your images apart is the way you handle light. You have managed to get a really good balance between the highlights and the shadows, and your use of side-light ends up sculpting the shapes of both bodies and the props, bringing out the texture and the contours. Daine's images got part of their power from the way the light highlighted the musculature, while still having a very good balance between the highlight and shadow areas. The first image in this set shows the main light coming from the right doing a very good job of creating the focus on the face of your model Jess, and yet the supporting props (couch, dress behind Jess, objects on the floor) have beautiful texture and balance of light. How much of this is your skill at lighting, and how much does post-processing play in establishing that very effective balance?
