~ Jumping Jewelry ~ I jumped this Mallard drake off of this mudflat created by extremely low water conditions. The drake was sporting a migration band which can be seen plainly on his leg. The hen stayed for quite some time after the drake had taken flight and it was difficult to see if she was banded due to her angle of ascension into flight.

As a young lad, I did not have any decoys and depended on my ability to stalk and jump shoot to bag waterfowl. I still enjoy a good jump shoot to this very day.
