Junipers and Snow

I'm not sure which of these I like better. These are from my mom's land in Colorado--two versions of the same thing. I was thinking of getting a print made for her from one of them. I was excited when I was taking these, thinking I was getting something really good, but now I feel like its not quite there, like I can't quite get the post processing right, but I can't put my finger on it. Thoughts?

#1 for sure; love the composition, though personally I would try to clone out some of the lens flare.
