Welcome!
Your first shot is quite interesting, I think it would be stronger if it was shot in vertical, and maybe closer in to the stairs.

Thanks for your input. I believe I have a few I took in vertical, although I'll have to check once I get home. Any suggestions on the others. I'm going to be headed to Manila and to Hong Kong in about a week. Hopefully I can get some decent shots.

Make sure to visit victoria peak in hong kong when you're there. It's a fantastic spot to nail some nighttime shots of hong kong's skyline

The second shot, to be honest doesn't do anything for me, just because it doesn't have any particular point of interest that pops out, what does it look like in colour? I know that there was something there that you saw that interested you, but it's not coming across in the photograph.

The third shot has potential, you caught a moment that could be interesting, but it's not quite telling a story if you know what I mean. Both men are looking at something, but we can't tell what from the photo. There's no context to get the viewer's attention.

On all three shots - the exposure/focus/contrast are all good!

Would you mind if I crop your first image? The more I look at it, the more I want to...

ETA - I'm quite sure that you will get some great shots in Manila & Hong Kong! Keep shooting :)

@NayLoMo6c I've been there before, but didn't have my camera :(

@BlackSheep Feel free to crop it. Its always good to see what other people can do to an image. I do have the second in color. I'll take a look at it today.

I like the crop a lot more. I think it draws your attention right to the stairs without the distracting background. And i agree that the 3rd shot was close but needs a bit more in it for it to really stand out. The second one doesn't do much for me because i feel like the branch at the bottom is thr focus point, but it blends in too much with the background at the bottom. Nice shooting though!

I really like those! I think your first crop is my favorite. I may have to use that...
