Just bought my first "L" piece of glass!

Well after countless hours of research and asking questions and talking with other photography friends...

I made the plunge and purchased the 24-105mm f/4L from B&H, along with a set of Tiffen ND filters as well.

After looking at my shots and deciding what I want to do with my photography, I came to the conclusion that a 24-105 f/4L and a 70-200 is the best set of lenses for me at this point in time.

I had the 10-22, but only used it to show it off, never really had a need for it, so I returned it.
Had the 50 f/1.4 as well, nice little lens, but found it too tight for what I was doing, and never shot wide open anyways, returned it, may consider 35mm in future.

Selling the kits lenses, 28-135 and 70-300 as well to get some money back.

Next purchase will be the 70-200 f/4L IS with a possible extender as well.

Almost went with the 24-70 f/2.8, but that damn thing is so expensive right now and I can not find a good deal on one, even used copies are almost at the new price, which seems to be over the Canon's MSRP.

Going with the f/4 lenses because I don't really have a need for f/2.8 as I don't shoot much in low light, so no need to spend the extra money right?

So, it'll be here tomorrow Can't wait to shoot with this puppy!

Great lens and enjoy it!

But to me personally a 24-105 on a crop body would be pretty limiting in terms of range, it's a perfect range on FF though. I much prefer using the 17-50 range on my crop, but to each his own!

Thought about that too, I might later invest in a wider lens down the road, but 28-135 was good for me, bring it down to 24 will be a little better, we shall see how fitting it is and if I really need anything wider.

Low light is whatever nowadays since DSLRs are performing beautifully in whatever light (5d Mark III especially YOWZA). f/2.8 would be more great for the shallow DOF.

Today was the longest day at work ever, getting a new lens in the mail is like being a little kid on Christmas day lol.

But its here and this thing is awesome! Nice heavy solid piece of glass.

And wow, this thing is sharp! Can't wait to get some "real" photos with this baby!
