Just got the Panasonic G7

An avid Nikon guy here, got the G7 for video.
As an event photographer I have decided to get a 4K capable camera and the G7 sound like a good place to start, got it today bought it used from B and H
Anyways I am trying to understand what is going on, how to use it and work it, mirrorless is different then my Nikon.

I have a question about using the camera, playing with its focus and trying to take pictures with it, the only way I can nail focus is using the centre point, is there a way to move the point in the eye piece or the centre is the only way to lock focus and then recompose ?
