O>MG! My new time-waster! I just watched a hawk preening for like 10 minutes... "bookmarked"

Bird brains! How dare you. I am so totally offended. HOW DARE YOU insinuate that ... wait.. something shiny.

Huh. Sorry, what were we talking about again?

Lol

I know what you mean. When I first clicked on it, mom was there with the youngsters. I looked away and next thing you know, mom was off. This could be much worse than playing Angry Birds.

The camera seems to be mounted on a clothesline.

If you mean the "cable-cam", at least that one is fairly stable. The camera movement in the video you linked to is swaying in the breeze. Probably just a light breeze, too, not real wind like we have here in Iowa.

It would be nice to see how the whole thing is rigged.

My guess is that whoever set up the camera is not a photographer.

Just checked. Today's shot is moving rhythmically, and there is a regular sound as if someone is holding the camera and allowing his breathing to move the camera.

If you guys get a chance, watch the June 6th, First Cornell Hawks Fledge of 2014 video - just below the main video. Pretty cool to watch the hawk hang on to the ledge with one talon.
