Juvenile Bald Eagle

We went kayaking for the first time in a couple years today on the river. We saw 2 adult eagles, 2 juveniles, 4 or 5 GBH's, several ducks and a couple Belted Kingfishers. I have not seen any Cormorants since early spring here. Usually we have some that stay along the river until fall, but I think maybe the high river levels during the spring probably drove them elsewhere to reproduce. Hopefully next year will be better.

I agree wholeheartedly about it's looks. We love the quiet and peacefulness of kayak trips, but our highlight is always seeing these birds. They have made quite a recovery here.

Thanks Jeff. I wish he had picked a perch in the sunlight, but they seem to prefer as much cover as possible while still being able to see their surroundings and the water.
