Leaving for Kenya in the AM so hope I will have something more interesting than backyard birds in a couple of weeks.

Kenya?!? Well, that makes me jealous! Have a great time--we'll be expecting some stunningly awesome shots, so...no pressure or anything. :D

Also: I've never seen a juvenile Cedar Waxwing before; pretty cool.

Stunningly awesome, eh? I'm going to go for pretty darned good and see how it goes. lol
I had never seen juveniles before either.

Good shots. I've never seen juvenile cedar waxwings. They come to my area in the winter only. I've planted a dozen or so beautyberry shrubs around my yard to attract them. When they and the robins arrive they strip the bushes in a few minutes. They're like a school of starving piranhas.
