Kamloops's Biggest Snowfall Since 1927

I was out in the daytime as well but it wasn't really doing it for me. With the clouds, everything was just too white!

Until Sunday there was almost no snow in town. Now there's about a foot and a half, biggest snowfall since 1927! It's not that big for some places, but Kamloops is in a semi-desert region.

One could really use a focal point in the image, but it is a nice little landscape nevertheless. I just love the reflection of the mountains in the still water.

I love the 'little village' feel of the lights on the right, and I like the 'starburst' lights on left. Great reflection, great cloud sitting perfectly above mountain...wow.

I think this one looks better, the first one is a little warmer for the scene.

I like them too. Perhaps the starbursts on the left should/could show in the reflection also, since the trees reflections show.

When I get home I think I will try something in between the two, because going too cool makes the lights from the houses look a bit unnatural. The unedited photo is pretty orange from the city lights, so I made it quite a bit cooler as it is.

You're right it looks like they should reflect. Must just be from the angle I was at. I took out a few branches at the very bottom and that was it.

I went back and had another look at it. I made the snow on the mountain as close to white as I could. It's lies somewhere in between those other 2 versions

I don't remember the last time I saw the snow banks piled so high, and just from one storm! It was more than the city could handle too. It was two days before they plowed the residential streets and they don't have the equipment to truck away the piles. I think some roads are just going to lose a lane or parking for a little while. It might not melt for another month or more, depending what the weather decides to do.

But I still think it's pretty cool, and not just because I enjoyed an awesome day of snowboarding on Monday!
