I did a last minute shoot with my sister Karen who I think you probably saw her a couple weeks ago. :D

What do you'll think? And C&C is welcome!!!

I like three the most, and I think 2 the least. I think maybe crop a little off the top and having the picture go a little lower would improve three.

I agree with you on three! The reason I didn't do that was because of the background. :( I did as much as I could though.

Thanks for the comment!!

I like #1 the best. The composition and the leading line of the straw, keep leading my eye back to her eyes. It makes for a very effective portrait. My only complaint is that it looks like she's squinting a bit.

Thanks!! I see what you mean about her squinting. She seemed to be doing that a lot yesterday even though it was not that bright out. :) I think her one eye was a little lazy too!

I actually like the last one better! I like the light, the shadows, the sharpness of it and the expression!

I would crop it differently to cut the bottom of the pictures a little bit higher (current crop is too close to the elbow) and that would reduice the death space she have at her back and will balance the shoot a bit.

#1 and #4 are my favorite. #1 I really like the background, especially with the straw in her mouth in the foreground. The theming is wonderful :) and in #4 i have to agree with dots, red works quite well with her complexion though I'm not sure about the incredulous look she is giving

Ohhh just wait until you see the next pictures that I post of her!! :D

:)

It occurred to me that none of the images portray her candidly, looking away from the camera. I was going to suggest it but you do it with these other pictures. IMO, try some shots from a lower angle. I think i've read that a conventional approach to photographing young women is to shoot from a higher position but i think as she is petite it would work ok. Also in these shots her arms are at the same level and postures are a bit uptight.

Thanks dots! I was told the same thing recently so I guess that means I need to try it out. :D I normally do so a couple at a lower angle but I never seem to post any of them. :)

Heres another one:

What about this one? Is the grass stuff to distracting??

The crossed eyes shot is a good one, but I would much rather see it in a vertical composition. The lone stem of grass in the last one does bother me a bit, yes.

Thanks for the feedback! I did take the crossed eye picture in a vertical composition but I kinda liked this one better :) I was afraid of that with the grass. :(
