I have the following lenses:

AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm
AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm
AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm

I'm selling my D5000 and wondering if I should keep or sell the 18-55mm lens with it. Or, just sell the body. I don't use the lens often.

Anyone ever sell or never use their 18-55mm?

I sold my 18-55 & 55-200 when I went to the 18-105 & 70-300. Now that I have upgraded to the D7000, I wish I had kept them.

Why are you selling the D5000? It seems like the D5000 would be easier to sell with the kit lens.

i would sell it. i never found the focal lengths it provided useful

Finally upgraded to a D90. But, I only purchased the body. I don't use the 18-55 much already, but don't want to regret selling it at a later date.

Could you elaborate on why you regret selling those?

I have an 18-55 kit lens, a 55-200, and a 50 prime. One thing I like about the kit is that it will let me focus much closer to the subject than either of the other two lenses. Not sure if that's a consideration for the type of shots you take though.

I kept my D60 as a workhorse/backup body. I also use it to shoot tethered. My new D7000 has the 18-105 mounted on it 95% of the time, and that lens is what's on it when it's in the bag.

But the D60 is bagged sans lens. I would like to be able to pull it out and at least have even an 18-55 on it so I wouldn't have to swap lenses with the D7000. Keeping my 10-24 or 70-300 on it just makes me take it off the D60 to use those lenses on the D7000... it slows me down. If I had my 18-55 back, I could at least pull the D60 out and start shooting.

I think you will need the wider angle of the 18-55 any day now. It is hard to get $100 for it but I think it is worth way more than that when you need it.
