Does anyone own this Close-Up lens? Can anyone post a picture made with it?
I know extension tubes are better, but I'm unable to find them in my country.
Do I lose much sharpness with the Kenko Close-Up lens? I have a Nikkor 50mm 1.8
I would be grateful for any help. Thank you!
100% agreed - don't get closeup diopters. They degrade your image quality. The only problem with a 50mm lens and extension tubes is your minimum focusing distance will shrink, and you might be too close to your subject for good macro work - you will cast a shadow. This depends which camera and sensor size you have.
For 1.5/1.6 cropped cameras, I recommend nothing less than ~65-85mm lenses, and on full frame, 100mm is perfect (this is what we use daily and we do jewelry photography).
