Off camera flash bounced off white reflector. Not a studio shot as you guys can see. 98mm - f/8 - 1/60

I should of had my flash sync set faster because I do see blur...seems OOF or maybe just soft?

Would have been nice if the subject was looking directly into the lens, rule of thirds was used and the focus was sharper around the subjects eyes. Nice photo otherwise!

I find it's really hard to photograph children. They never stop moving!

Thanks guys

Is it just me or am I seeing messy brush strokes?

I find that babies are some of the toughest to shoot with great sharpness because of their movement. I'd say you did a nice job based on it ewas of a baby with the sharpness. Nice job. That's coming from a newb though hehe:(

Maybe so. I'm not calibrated and I am working on little sleep. ;)

haha...it's actually a couch! If I would put her up against a backdrop and on the floor she would just crawl away. Eventually i got fed up and sat her on a couch where she would actually stay put. I had to clone alot of that couch out though because there were creases in there that were really distracting.

I would say it is a little of all three.

This photo does not really say "Kids Play" to me. Maybe get down on the ground with her and some of her favorite toys and take some shots.

With kids, I have to adopt the "spray and pray" method of photography. This is a little difficult when working with an off camera flash but it is do able.

Cute kid.

How is this photo not using the rule of thirds? Her eyes are sitting right near the intersection of two of the third-lines, and her head and body are pretty much on one of the lines too.

Thanks for the critique. I'm figuring "spray and pray" means just rapid shooting and hope for the best?
