Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
From my model shoot tonight. I have more to process, this is the first one. What are your thoughts?

EDIT:

New edit based on comments. I'm still not getting rid of the halo completely... no matter how little I adjust the contrast I get it. :(

Nice. Very grungy feel to it, and the choice of wide angle here is fabulous. The skin on the thighs looks a wee veiny; perhaps that is a product of the PP?

What did you use for the (fake, I certainly hope :greenpbl: ) blood?

ewwww....
But I really like it.
Awesome perspective.

Yeah, I wanted the grungy feel. I think I might do something about the splotchy skin maybe... but if I do it will make it look too processed... not sure how to pull that one off.

I'm glad you like the lens/angle. :)

Blood is corn syrup, red food coloring and Hershey's chocolate syrup. It tastes pretty good.

Hot. Very nice work.

What make of handgun is that? Looks like a 1911 of sorts.
It's a Springfield 1911 TRP .45 ACP. I have some better shots of it, I'll work on getting another pic up here shortly. :)

Here's one more.

Contrasts pushed a little far resulting in the halos and a little hot on the hands and the forehead. Interesting, otherwise.

Easy on the high pass, she's glowing in the dark and her forehead's gone nuclear!

The makeup's cool, better then what i've been able to pull off.

Thanks for the great comments... I've posted a re-edit in the OP.

What's wrong with with the high contrast in these. I think it works well with the imagery. What are you doing these for? Fun and practice, portfolio, a project?
Pretty cool.

I love the re-edit of the OP, I think it has been nailed sir... This is what it's all about my friend. Great stuff here, really is. Excellent work, love it, am inspired by it, and very jealous of it :) You've outdone yourself here, I think anyway :)

High contrast rocks, there's nothing wrong with it in the proper context and for the most part, what Tharmsen's done is pretty nice, overall.

As a general rule, people shouldn't glow, though. There's a difference between setting someone apart from their background (good) and basically saying 'woh, look what this slider does!!!!'

And with specular highlights, especially areas which blow out a significant portion of skin is a tight rope to walk. It can be used to great effect, but when it draws the eye entirely and then has nothing to give the eye when it gets there (having lost all of the detail), it can and often does detract from the image.

Thanks man. I really appreciate it.

I swear, I spent 5 hours getting this simple shoot. Finding the cloths, searching for a fake blood recipe on Google that worked (5 failed attempts at the right color/consistency), several practice runs with the model before make-up to get the lighting right, then the make-up... we had to do it. Then the shoot with different angles and lenses. It was a ton of work and I was about ready to give up because I never thought I got *the* image. :)

But, it's a total blast!

I'm glad some of you like it, it totally makes it worth while..

Thanks, but you're spot on I think about the halo and blown highlights. I tried to ignore it but can't... I'm still trying to find the right balance of contrast.
