I feel like this ones a bit too desaturated. aside from that i like it.

The sahdows on the faces bug me, try using a fill flash or something.

I was thinking the same thing. I like the photo in pretty much every way--including the kind of desaturated feel. But I'm distracted by the shadows. If it was the stylistic intentions then it probably works. But I can't shake the context of cute couple photos and feel that it may have benefited from some fill light. Even just a reflector.

yea i really do need to invest in a reflector or external flash, but im broke right now lol.

You can makeshift a reflector pretty easily. Pick up a piece of large foam-board from the office supply story. That will work just fine. You can get sharper reflections by taping some tin-foil over the outside of it too.
