This woman is a renowned "partera" or midwife from the Pacific coast of Colombia. She is the one who is called when a woman is about to deliver a baby. "Degreed" doctors are generally not available in the region.

That's unfortunate. But I would bet, as experienced as she comes across, she could give them a run for the money.
