I think they are ok. I like the 3rd shot best.

Just my opinions.

#1 is technically a good shot. However, in the end, the domination of the out of focus green leaf at left distracts too much.

#2 This is actually my fav, however, once again there is a blurry blob distracting (upper left). Focus was on the spots, but DOF was good enought to get the head. Good bracketing with branch above/below. Green leaf at top helps balance the orange body. Use of rule of 1/3rds is good. Subject scale is good, large enough to catch our attention but small enough to show the story of its travels. Lighting is very good for the subject and exposure is spot on.

#3 certainly tells a story, but it actually makes me unconfortable (I keep think it is going to fall!). Light background works ok with this subject. DOF is maybe slightly too much (would prefer the green branch stuff to be a little more out of focus).

#4 Yet again, a distraction. This one competes due to its clarity. Like the lines and the background compliments the subject. I think there is too much space at bottom - subject scale is smaller than it needs to be. The strong downward position of the bug makes me nervous again (it might slip!). Would prefer rotation CW 90 deg and then crop leaf out.

#5 Background is good, foreground is even better! Too bad the wasp got in the way ;) . Light is somewhat flat with low mid-tone range (wonder if this could be improved in PP?). Only one antenna shows which always disturbs me. Subject scale is good, Focus and DOF are ok.

Ah thanks for that jrice12, appreciate your time spent on a detailed reply :)

Yea - the 'pose' in #3 is not something you see often. Macro lens?

#2 tack sharp but the branch that is out of focus in the upper left is a tad distracting.
