Latest favorite/C&C of multiple edits

Took this photo back in August/September, but overlooked it. Stumbled upon it yesterday while doing something else; I kind of fell in love with it though it does have a few technical flaws. The blown highlight on the lower left bothers me, but cropping tighter didn't give the right effect. I do kind of like how the blown parts frame the tree and little girl. The mismatched horizon lines are confusing, did what I could without really skewing one or the other.

Here are three differently processed images of the photo. Which do you prefer? Non-PP C&C welcome too















I think I prefer the middle. I didn't realize how much green was in the first until I played around with some color balance and gradients.

IMO, the little girl is just lost in these and the PPing is sort of beside the point.
Perhaps, cropping back a lot to remove some of the troublesome bright area works?

I'm going to agree on Traveler here, the subject is way too lost.
I was just about to ask why you posted this in the people photography section... I hadn't spotted the girl yet. ^^

I think a reshoot is in order... perhaps I'm loving what it could be rather than what it is currently. I agree that she is too small in the frame, but the tree is one of my favorite parts of this. Perhaps if she were higher up in the tree, maybe sitting sideways and have her silhouette.

I didn't see her, either. FWIW, I like #3 - it's more subdued than the first one but very slightly "greener" than the second (at least on my monitor).

Thank you. Yep, that one has a color balance layer only while the middle also has just a hint of a gradient.

Yes! Please pose the model with a little more imagination. FI; ask her to hold a branch, and "sag" into a pose. Also, frame much closer, use your flash, and watch the composition for branches intersecting the model, etc.

Then, if you still have the desire to shoot only the tree, do that again only without a model.
