Hi everyone, I'm looking to jump into the world of sports and team photography. I have photographed my local wrestling club team and individuals (70+ kids) for the past few years and also the middle school wrestling and cheer teams. Anyhow, I was just wondering about some league incentive/fundraiser ideas. Do you have a standard you give $1 per package, a certain percentage, a certain percentage plus free product, etc. I usually print through Millers as I have found this the most convenient and am very happy with their product. I was thinking of offering the league free photo buttons of every player so they can sell them to make a profit but wasn't sure if I should offer a percentage of sales as well. Thanks in advance for all of your input!

Bumping this to the top. (Since the thread isn't super old and there aren't any responses yet.)

I was wondering this, too, because it seems like I have a good chance of being the new local little league photographer since the lady who's done it in previous years has retired.

In many types of business, incentives as mentioned in the OP, are called kickbacks and are at the least a serious ethics violation, or at worst (depending on the jurisdiction) illegal.

You can offer incentives such as group discounts, or an 'X' percent discount if 'Y' or more persons participate. You could also offer to donate a set amount of your sales to youth sports or something; that sort of incentive would be fine, but a "Hey, make me the official team photographer and I'll cut you in for a buck a session" is bad practice and/or (as mentioned) illegal.

Over here it is normally 10% of profit, if you want to make more sales get yourself a dye sub printer and print on site, i have a dog event (agility) i usually take action shots but this time i'm going to set up a studio for dog portraits i think there will be more money (printing on site with a dye sub printer) get the sale will they are keen
