I remembered an Ansel Adams picture where he was given a flower by his mother I believe, and he wanted to take a picture of it. He placed it on some wood, and put it in the window, and got a beautiful picture. I thought Id try

The first one is great, I love how that furthest petal on the right is lit and flipped. The colours and lighting are really nice.

I'm not liking the second so much though, its a little boring and out of focus.

ya, first one is very respectable. second has lost some focus on the petals, however, the center of the flower being in the frame, second one's a better composition. well done on both.
