Lens focal lengths - selecting the correct ones

By the way close-ups of things (pretty it not flowers, insects, animals) are fascinating for most beginners; after a while one realizes that it takes far more than a macro lens to avoid déjà-vus and boring pictures (just have a look at Instagram or your friends’ or family’s Facebook pages). Macro is technical (lighting, equipment) and good photographs (the ones you and others will look at ore than once) require a lot of dedication, knowledge and practice. Learn to see your environment and the people in it. Take photograph of them in context (people, objects, animals...). You will learn more about photographing and your I ages will be more personal and probably more I interesting for you in the long run.

Now for some un-techie advice.....;)
Resist buying anything JUST because your family/friend says
'your photos are great, you should sell them!'

Very typical comment but that doesn't mean go buy something....
Welcome to the Forum, you will learn a lot from all these techies!

Yeah, wait until those friends actually buy your photos.
IOW, let them put their money where their mouth is, to prove it.
"Your photos are great, you should sell them! But no, I won't buy one." hmmm
