i have a Canon 550D(T2i) and want to know if you guys think this would be a good lens

Depends on how you define 'Good'. It's a decent, consumer-grade lens, but a bit slow. I would say that's a decent price however, assuming that it's in good condition.

If you have a Cannon, then put a Cannon on the front of it. Maybe that's just me though...
