Ive read that lens distances on digital cameras are not what they are suposed to be (ex. 50mm would be 76mm on a digital camera... I think) because of sensor size.

... but do lenses like Nikon's DX or Sigmas DC lenses take that into account so that 35mm is actually 35mm?

DX just means the lens is physically smaller, lighter, and casts an image circle that makes it unsuitable for full frame cameras like 35mm film or the Nikon D3 FX.

The conversion (1.5x for Nikon's DSLRs) still needs to be taken into account.
