Hello can you please tell me if this lenses combination with the NIKON D500 good?: Nikkor 70-300mm vr Nikkor 50mm f/1.8g Nikkor 18-105mm Sigma 10-24mm And what other lenses do you think are better with the d500? I want a ultra wide, wide angle, normal/portrait and a telephoto lense (4 lenses) in a price range less than 500$ Thank you
That's a bold post. Your $500 budget for 4 lenses is tight, even if you buy used lenses. The D500 needs pro grade lenses to perform at it's best.
That's a lot of money to spend on a body, then to skimp on all the lenses. With my D500 I'd -the 50mm/1.8 G would be a good lens - rather than the 70-300 VR I might opt to go with the newer 70-300 AF-P VR (or non-VR) lens instead. It looks to be better all around. - the Nikon 18-105 I had with my D7000. It was good but not stellar. - for UWA, I don't know as I use my FX for UWA. I use my D500 for specific needs, then my FX D750 for every thing else so I don't have the full range of lenses for it and it shares the FX lenses with my D750.
You have a pro body. - Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 or f/4 - Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 VC - 50mm 1.8G is fine - Nikon 18-105? for? - Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 or Sigma 17-70mm 2.8-4 - Sigma 10-24 I dont really know how it works, but I heard good things abou the Tokina 11-16mm. - Also, the Nikon 200-500mm VR is great for sports and wildlife (suits that body well). I would go for - Tokina 11-16mm + Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 + 85mm 1.8G + Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 VC + Nikon 200-500mm VR (and a Tokina 100mm 2.8 for macro). If you dont want to spend money on good glass, you might better sell the body and go for a cheaper one (Nikon D5500 or something). Cheers
Hello again, thank you for your replies, i tought about 4 other lenses: Tokina 11-16mm Tokina 16-28mm Nikkor 28-300mm vr Nikkor 85mm f1.8 Will they do the job on the d500 ? Sorry i'm asking about lenses for a pro dslr
Quite frankly I would rather get a D7100 and good lenses than a D500 and then the cheapest stuff possible. Not that cheap lenses cant be good, mind. Especially not with Nikon. My AI-S 300mm f4.5 was less than 200€. Its only manual focus but its build very well and its optically pretty much perfect. Lenses I would want with a D500 (or D7100): AF-S 20mm f1.8 - approx $800 new AF-S 35mm f1.8 DX - approx $120 used Voigtländer "Nokton" 58mm f1.4 - approx $600 new, ca $350 used Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro - approx $400 new, $250 used Tamron 10-24mm f3.5-4.5 VC "II" - approx $600 new AF-S 17-55mm f2.8 DX - approx $600 used Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 VC "G2" - approx $1300 new AF-S 200-500mm f5.6 VR - approx $1400 new
