What lens to you use for a maternity shoot?

The lens that gets the job done in the space you need or have available

I'd assume it will depend on the looks that you want from the shoot, your style, and the space . I don't shoot maternity but I prefer prime over telephotos, so 35 f1.4, 50 f1.4, 85 f1.4, 105 f2.8, and the occasion 24-70 f2.8 for wider shots. Those are my go to lenses.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated

Wide angle.........REALLY WIDE ANGLE. :boogie::biglaugh:

What would be good for out doors?

Most of my photos outdoors are anywhere from 85mm - 160mm on full frame. Mostly hovering around 130-140mm range. It depends on what you like.

I'd use a Maternity 85 or the M135...

No, come on, I can't tell a lie. If you have to ask what lens to use you are probably not ready to take on a specific task. Better to read and study, practice, practice and practice! There's no one lens for any job. There's no set rules. Understanding what any particular focal length and aperture at a given focal length and the distance to subject and subject to background distance...now that' would answer all your questions.
