Please follow this sections rules and fill in the required sections below.

-Tech Specs
Make model of Camera/lens
Shutter speed, aperture, iso
Aperture priority/Shutter priority/Manual etc.

-Lighting
Strobes, speed lights and at what power.
Natural light time of day.

-Post processing
Colour, exposure etc.
any adjustments made in software.

-Why did I take the shot?
Just playing around is not sufficient or people will just play around with the feedback. Was it a great sunset? Trying a new technique? There's always a reason to hit that shutter button.

- What was the goal?
What image did you have in mind when you took the image?
Was there a specific learning goal?

- Did I achieve my goal?
This is where you honestly look at your own image. Do you see anything that looks off, takes your attention away from the subject, etc.

- If I could, what would I change?
Everyone should be able to answer this one. There's always that one or two things that you could have done different/better.

-What critique am I looking for?
General critique will get you general feedback. Try and find what you think you need help with and lay it out for us to provide assistance. This will not limit the feedback you get but will ensure that you do get feedback on this topic.

Ok Sorry about that. I should have read the guidelines first.

info on the shots
Camera- Sony A6000
Lens Sony 55-210mm OSS SEL55210
Lighting- Natural
Time of day around 630 pm
The suffer shot has all the camera info such as shutter speed ISO ect
Edited in light room (not sure how to get the settings since I exported the photo)
Why I took the shot-I took the shot to capture a suffer riding a Florida wave (which are smaller and often harder to ride than the waves in other places)
Did I achieve my goal? I do like the shot. Somethings that could have been better are the lighting or camera adjustments for the lighting.
If I could what would I change? I should have cropped it better while editing it (put the suffer in the 1st 3rd of the frame) I could have also zoomed in tighter.
Not sure how I could have gotten the suffer lighter without blowing out the background. Any suggestions would be great

Photo #2
Camera in is the same as no1 except aperture was f7.1 exposure time 1/80 ISO100
Time 7:02
Edited in lightroom
Why I took the shot? The bird looked cool hunting sand flea's fiddler crab or whatever it was looking for. I liked how the water was coming up around the bird and the bird was so into what it was doing he never really noticed me. The bird's reflection in the water also looked cool. I think it's a good shot but not great
what would I change? Maybe raise the expose a little to 1/100 and lower the aperture to compensate for the higher exposure.
What do you think of the composition? Camera settings?

You don't need that to critique a picture. Either the picture works or it doesn't. Knowing technical aspects makes little difference.

First thing I see is that your ISO is low in both images. They're both under exposed and have a good amount of room before worrying about blowing anything out.
What metering mode were you in? A wide area metering mode will be affected by the brighter skies/background that can darken the subject. I normally use spot metering on the subject. It's not always the right choice but if I have a defined subject it's what I would normally use.

In the surfer image it appears that the tip of the board may be the most in focus point but both images are soft. Unsure if its a limitation of the available light or if it's because of focusing limitations/focus points use.
What focusing mode were you in? SportACF? How many focus points were active?

I've brightened each image and screen shotted the images below. However getting the exposure better in camera will make life easier and in some cases retain more detail.
I think I'll end it here because of the focus combined with underexposure I wouldn't use the images and take it as a learning experience on how you could do better next time.

It's a good effort but I don't think the lighting and maybe a setting or two were working against you.
