I'd be curious to hear the technique used. I'll make a guess that it was one exposure, and you bulb fired with a single flash at the end. It's an interesting photo. Good job. I might have warmed the flash just a bit.

It doesnt matter when you fire the flash. You just want to make sure you fire the flash where you pose the best. The fire movement is circular so flash in the beginning or the end, it wont matter. You also need a fairly powerful flash. If you dont, you cant overpower the ambient light from the fire on the subject.
