Some of my favorite shots from the past month. Obviously these are snapshots of my kids but I am really striving to create great photos of every day life aka: 'lifestyle photography'. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

4) I feel like this shot could be stronger. I tried several angles and I really like this, but it is just not 100% my vision yet. Ideas for a reshoot?

As you've posted rather too many images for which to provide really detailed C&C, here' a a few quick thoughts.

1. Subect's too close to the RH edge; fill needed camera right.

2. Cute; but background kills it. 1/3 under.

3. Never crop limbs along a lateral axis!

4. Crop the bright, blown sky & RH side, and it's a winner.

5. See #3.

6. Oohh... amphibiany!

7. Fill needed image left, shoot from subject's eye level.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

thanks for your thoughts, not looking for a real c&c because I know what is technically wrong and right with each image. I'm wanting more a general feeling of each photo. I know that some are tight (in camera). I live in 750 sq feet and shoot with a 50mm on crop sensor so limb chops and tight cropping are a fact of life . I'm trying to work with what I got.

as for #4, I tried that crop but the image just lost some of its charm IMO. I feel like I want to showcase my tiny daughter in front of this big long fence. And cropping the sky and right portion out just leaves a sort of blah feeling. idk...

#4 is my favorite of the group. I agree with tirediron that the picture would definitely benefit from a crop. Liking 6 and 7 also. I like 1, however they appear to be floating because of the darkness of whatever they are sitting on (floor?). Which is why I assume tirediron suggested fill camera right.

Although there are nits to each one of these that I think would make them better, as a group I think they are great and bear perfecting.

Yes, I do like this crop better. However, I like the girl reflecting back on her work in the first image more.

Just my 2 cents tho.
