Lighting question

I am curious how you would set up lighting in order to achieve photos like the ones attached. I am new to the photography world and my wife and I would like to take some pics like these.

FYI, it is not allowed (by law or on this forum) to post images that you don't hold copyright to. Posting a link to where you found the image is the preferred method in this case.

As for lighting, I didn't see anything special. The first one looks to be taken in front of a large bright area...could easily be a large window. The second one looks like window lighting as well, but from a smaller window beside the bed. Could easily be replicated with a softbox.

Either way, it's not just the lighting, but careful and deliberate control of the exposure. If you just put some people in front of a window and shoot away in auto mode, you won't get those results. You need to understand how to control the exposure by manipulating the camera controls....and it would help to understand the process of metering, in order to figure out what exposure you want to get to, and how to get there.
