Depends on the 1911. The original ones had much looser tolerances and were designed to be fired after they fell in the mud. They just didn't shoot a 2 inch group at 25 yards. What makes modern 1911's somewhat unreliable is the much tighter tolerances and greater accuracy.I hear ya....kimbers are a beautiful thing.....But I can toss my Glock in a sand box and rince it off with mud and fire it .....Cant say that for those ol 1911 pistolas.....
As far as Glocks, I can't stand them...Hate the grip angle, hate how thick they are, it's like they were designed by a brick company.
