Little Girl

Hi everyone,
I am new here on The Photo Forum and I am excited to learn some things. I myself have just gotten into photography.

Here's a shot I recently took of my little sister. I haven't done any editing or anything:

Remember the "thirds" rule. Good expoxure- Printed on warmer paper with a touch more contrast to pop her out without bringing up the background. I you shot this in Black and white film, a pale yellow filter might bring it out. The question is, Do you like it? If you do great, if not, what would you suggest to change? What would you change? Lets do some of our own C and C.

Thanks for the help! Yes, I do see what your saying about the contrast. Yes, I did shoot this in black and white film. For one of my first portrait shots, or shots in general I do like it. As far as changing it, her right eye (our left) seems to be the most in focus, not her whole face, so I would have to work on that.

I like the message and content...it's very sincere and wholesome. Try different angles like shooting slighly upwards towards her face...not too much...very subtly so that we see her on eye level...or try different angles..i cant say if it that would look nice for sure...

but very nice and I love the short depth of field giving a little insight into her life. content means a lot to me lately...it's like writing a paper with gibberish...but you have achieved a meaning!! good exposure!! I am sort of a beginner too...still building up on some images I feel that are worthy...to put in a portfolio.
