feels like it will take forever to fine tune..but I got time..please c&c thanks Ed

The image is not sharp at all... That's INCREDIBLY hard (just so I don't say impossible) to fix, regardless of how much time you have... Did you take other shots that may be sharper?

As jfrabat says, it is not sharp - probably a focus problem - not in focus. To my knowledge, this cannot be fixed. Were you using Autofocus (AF) or focussing manually?

I am sorry, Ed. You can fix a lot of things but you can't fix blurry. It's a toss.

Do you have CS6?

I guess the old attage, there are a lot of things you can fix..but there ain't no pill for stupid. I really appreciate you guy's feedback..I will learn,,At 73 it is somewhat a chalange,
the botom line is, I get excited..I see a shot..and everyting I halfway know goes out the window..but i will get better..thanks for your kind words..Ed

Ed, dont get discouraged... sometimes I find a check list helps quite a bit not to forget any basics.

Work in one of the priority modes. USE your auto focus-it's pretty damn smart. I'd venture to guess here that it was shutter speed. If you're having a problem with shutter then work in shutter priority. A shutter speed for still things like this bird of 1/250 is pretty great. It will stop normal motion. You are far out of the camera shake area.
When your settings blink at you then you know you need to raise ISO. If you work on one thing at at time 7 or 73 doesn't matter. Break it down into easy to swallow pieces. I had an old boss who told me that if you do something CORRECTLY 21 times it is committed to memory. HOWEVER, when you hit one incorrect time start count again. When you get to 21 with no mistakes-you own it.
I had a pool (billiards pool-not swimming) who taught me everything I live by in photography! "Plan your shot, shoot your plan." It holds true for EVERYTHING in life with some adaptation, but for photography it is especially perfect. Think, make your plan, then go shoot it.
