Looking for a hosting solution

[GJim]

Hello, newbie here.
I'm looking for recommendations for a site for hosting my photography and videos (nature, wildlife, etc.), for sale. I'm currently using smugmug - I like the look and interface there, but my pages are not being indexed for search engines like they should be - thus, no one finds my photos and no one purchases my photos and videos.
Thanks for any assistance.
Jim

Have a look at Squarespace(fee based) or Pixiset(free with limits)

I think it's unrealistic to think "this site will draw people/buyers." I think you need to have a site that's accessible (ie: like SmugMug, or a number of others) but then pull people to that site. For instance, post site info on other social media like BlueSky and X. Look for places for photo displays (local libraries, local government, community centers) where you can hang a photo and have info about your site. Restaurants are good in my experience (lots of foot traffic and those eating in will look at what's on the walls a lot). Think about producing a calendar and then mailing it to a number of local businesses that would find it attractive to display whatever you shoot. Think about donating a print of your work to a school auction (as a way of getting publicity and drawing people to your site).

Hello and welcome, there are many ways to do this, just Google it and take your pick ....

i use 22slides. costs $10 a month, it's not fancy, but it works well and has a decent amount of options for what it costs. it has an ecommerce option via paypal, but i never set it up. i sell a dozen or so special order landscape photos, but my sales process starts and ends in a local store. if you're selling portraits or events and you'll have a lot of online orders, then it might not be your best option.
