Hello. I am new to the SLR cameras and I have a Canon T2i with a 18mm-55mm and a 70mm-300mm. I have bought the 70-300 but I am looking to buy another and I am lost on what I need. I am more into people, and some landscapes. I am just looking to get any feedback on your thoughts. Thanks I need the help.

If you don't feel like your missing something then why do you want to get something? Think you might be suffering from CAS Canon Acquisition Syndrome!

Ever thought of doing some macro work? Canon make a great macro lense that I simply adore

I agree... save your money until you know what focal length you shoot most often, we can't tell you that. All we can do is throw out names of good lenses and watch you spend your money.

Well Thanks....That just gives me more of a reason to get out of the house and take more shots. I Love having good reasons why I need to leave with my camera. Lets the wife stay at home and watch her QVC and whatever. HEHE. Thanks guys

Anything you get, it needs to be fast. F2.8 or faster. You really need a fast lens.

Its really easy to spend so much time talk about cameras, lenses and gear that you can completely forget about actually taking photos. We've all been there!

I agree with others. It is a typical situation that a beginner think they need to buy a lens so that they can improve. Especially seeing other people's works and their equipments.

I believe most of us agree that to complete a task, you need the right equipment. If you run into a situation that you are not able to produce the result you want and realize it was because of the equipment limitation, it is the time to find out if equipment upgrade can solve the issue.

Until then, you are fine.

For example, you take photos of a indoor birthday party event. The photos are either dark, blurry, people have red eyes or build-in camera flash make light looks very harsh.

To improve the photos, first you need to know why the photos are dark, blurry , red eyes or harsh lighting. Once you know why, you may already know what you need to get next.

How about an upgrade?
For your telephoto 70-300, 70-200mm L IS 2.8 is a very nice lens.
For your mid range 18-55mm, 24-70 L 2.8 is a very nice one.
They're a lot more expensive though, but it is worth every dime.
