lots going on at my normal spot today

Although the sun only poked its head out of the clouds a few time, I mostly had gray over cast skys. thanks to a somewhat fast lens even with TC, and FF camera able to get a few shots, just background sometimes gray. also saw a few other things and kingfishers where taunting my all day. a kingfisher kept flying by me within like 5-10 ft, just making noise, of coarse they are almost impossible to get in flight due to their fast flying and erratic behavior. I also saw like 3 of them chasing each-other.

1)Waxwing, never photographed one before. had little time, and before I knew it a few seconds later he flew off. then I saw him meet 3 other and they went out of sight. wish I could had changed settings to get more DOF oh well...

Nikon 500mm vr with 1.4x converter for all of them. f5.6(wideopen) - F8, & Nikon D800, Monopod with tilt head.

the little birds needed more DOF, but I was shooting the osprey way up in the air, and didn't change settings and just shot the little birds near min focusing distance, so probably would have been better to be shooting at F10 or so. but sometimes its hard for me to try to shoot 2 subjects at similar times I will forget to change settings. and those darn birds are just too fast. I need to get it in my head to shoot one thing at a time LOL
