I'm trying to learn how to do "wedding effect" processing. I know there isn't any lens flare or anything here but things i tried to do are: hi-key(ish), local adjustments (smoothing, sharpen, dodge, burn), split tone, little grain, crop, lens correction, selective color desat, etc... etc...

What colors did you use for split toning? The image looks yellow and pink.

kind of redish yellow split with light blue -> pushed to the highlight side
