LR3 license

Can an individual sell a license for LR3? Someone on Craigslist says they have an extra license from purchasing 3 that they arent going to use and it hasnt been registered. Says to make an offer. I was using Bridge from CS5 to do my organizing, but I recently got LR3 trial, and I really like its quick processing ability. Needless to say, its another Adobe "must have", and I have 9 days left...

Well if they have a working key, then yes. As long as the key is still valid (something you may want to check *before* paying...although there's really no way to check without registering the software). There's virtually no way to make sure that transaction goes well and without problems.

If it's a retail version and hasn't been registered with Adobe - you should be good to go, but caveat emptor still applies.

Though Adobe has student pricing for Lightroom 3, I don't believe there is a Student Edition of Lightroom 3.

I called and asked if he would take 70 bucks for it...he said sold. He said I can come get the license tomorrow so I guess I will see. If I put it in my laptop, can I then use it on my desktop when I get home? I am trying to some how secure myself.

I wouldn't take a chance. They have shared licensed numbers everywhere. You won't be able to use some nice plug ins for LR3. For example photo uploader straight from LR3 to zenfolio or facebook.

Just make sure that they have either not installed and used the code or, if they have, that they have not only uninstalled that version, but also deregistered it from that computer. There are details about deregistering on the adobe site and its not the same as uninstalling the program.
