Lunch Break Photos.... C & C Please

So on my lunch break I took some pictures of a friend. Please offer any tips and suggestions please.

#1 is nice and warm, but the color is lost in #2.

I'd like #3 more if his face wasn't slightly OOF.

#4 I'm losing him a bit in the disappearing shirt and the really baggy jeans. His figure is "lost" amongst the bagginess and makes him look stubby. Maybe if he were leaning back with his elbows on the steps behind him so that you can see his figure, and it elongates him?

Just a thought.

I'd watch for neutral backgrounds. No matter how blurred: strong lines are distracting, so I feel (2 and even more so in 4).

thanks for the replies and suggestions. i didn't realize how distracting the backgrounds were until i was looking at them on my computer. i will definitely watch for that. thanks
