Its a differnt creative angle and i liked how you used a dark background, but i just dont like the subject, cant really tell what it is.

Christmas cactus perhaps?

I would crop out the oof petals at the top as they distract from the pic. Nice sharp detail in the flower parts.

Thanks, I've had this lens for a few months now. It's a Takumar 100mm 1:2 macro.

That would be correct. We've got 2 of them. One is a large one, doing very nicely, and the other one is just a twig, hardly even living, and that's the one that flowered this year.
