macro lens options

hey guys, im really new to all this camera stuff but am loving every minute of it so far, i have a nikon d3100 and i would like to find a good affordable macro lens and was curious if anyone had any suggestions.

Define affordable to you - there's a lot of options for macro and a wide variety of price ranges. Also define macro in your terms - that is to say are you thinking insects -flowers - general close up etc...
